SCCM 2012 SP1 Console / Packaged into an App-V 5.0 sp3 crashes

I have sequenced the SCCM Console and I receive the same issues that other people have when clicking on Properties of Collections or Applications, or trying to create new collections or applications. The application Crashes.  I read thru all the articles that said to edit the user\computer xml files and point the target to the PackageID\versionID\and path to exe.  This does not work.  I see where this worked when sequenced with 4.6.  However the TechNet links that point to the App-V 5 information has been removed from TechNet.

I am sequencing on App-v 5 sp3.  Our SCCM console is SCCM 2012 SP1.

The error messages in the Event Viewer are: Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.DLL exception code: 0xe043452 - Event ID 1000.  Also get the .Net Framework terminated due to an unhandled exception.  Event ID 1026.

Any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Tracey

Hi ,

Did the issue occur for all packages? Or just some specific package like Attachmate Extra?

Please update the latest CU for SCCM 2012 SP1. Also, reinstall the latest .NET Framework and see how it goes. A crash dump may help troubleshoot the issue.

Any other errors in event log and SmsAdminUI.log?

Thanks.

Hello,

Thank you for the response.  This issue is only with SCCM Console 2012 SP1.  I cannot update the CU, I have put in the request to see if we can, however, I sequence the software that I am provided.

I have already tried reinstalling .Net 4.5.1.  I have even built another sequencer with .Net 4.0 and installing .Net 4.5.1 during the install.

a SmsAdminUI.log is not created, I checked to see how I can turn that on and am having an issue finding that for SCCM 2012 SP1.  Below are the Console and Event viewer errors.  I do have a crash dump as well, but do not see how to upload it.

This is one of the recipe's that I have tried without success: http://www.the-d-spot.org/wordpress/2014/08/08/app-v-5-sequencing-recipe-configmgr-2012-r2-admin-console/

I have tried multiple recipes as this seems to be a common issue with SCCM console.  However, pointing the exe to the direct path as stated in the above link is not working in my instance.  I am not sure if I am missing something else that I need to do to make this work.
