SCCM 2012 REMOTE CONTROL
Some clients in our environment do not get any notification to approve/deny to take remote control of their machine. It shows connecting to client at our end and says waiting user to approve but no notification for users. SCCM agent is pushed via client push method on all workstations, agent is healthy and remote control component is in enabled state in agent. What can be the possible reasons ?

Check the Client Settings that are applied to the device. That's where this is controlled.

Check you client settings > Remote tools. Under that check if Prompt User for Remote Control Permission is set to Yes ?

Thanks Prajwal for your reply. Highlighted option is set to yes . Is there any other possible setting that you can think of that is causing the problem ?

Hi,

Please check if the registry Permission Required is set to 1.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS\Client\Client Components\Remote Control

You could try to set Prompt User for Remote Control Permission to No, apply the policy. Then change it to Yes.

Are you just using default client settings? Or are there custom ones?

Registry permission is set to 1 . Tried the above step but no luck.

We do not have any custom client settings set up in our environment.

You have the right setting in Client Settings and if that registry key value is set to 1, it is being applied.  If you are running the latest ConfigMgr Cumulative Update, then this sounds like a bug and you should open a support case with Microsoft.

I hope that helps,

Nash
