SCCM 2012 RC Endpoint Protection does not uninstall supported version of Symantec Endpoint Protection
I have just installed SCCM 2012 RC in our dev environment, and have a list from M$ of the AV versions that SCCM will automatically remove. I saw on that list that Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition version 12 is one of those that SCCM will automatically uninstall. I am running that version, and when I pushed the EP client, SCCM did not uninstall SEP, but installed installed EP on top of SEP. My exact version is 12.1.671.4971. This will create a huge problem in a large scale deployment, which I am planning. Are there any workarounds for this? Do you have any proven scripts that can be used to do this? Can those scripts be integrated with SCCM to complete the entire process seamlessly?Network Engineer Richmond, VA

Hi, This forum is for ConfigMgr 2007 related questions only. CM12 ones should be posted tohttp://innovation.connect.microsoft.com/discussions?ProjectName=configmgrbeta. Thanks, Jrgen-- My System Center blog ccmexec.com -- Twitter @ccmexec

When I go to that link and try to search for SCCM 2012, the product cannot even be found. The only options that I see are for submitting suggestions, not for help with troubleshooting.Network Engineer Richmond, VA

Mine may look different than yours but when I go to connect.microsoft.com and then to the SCCM 2012 page there's a "Discussions" link that takes me to a page with FEP and CM12 forums. John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum/|

Verify that your Existing AV is not password protected. If its installation /Uninstallation is password protected, it (FEP) will not/can not uninstall it. We saw this in our environmnet, and as sson as we removed this password protection, it worked as advertised.
