SCCM 2012 R2 Agent returning error for Compliance Settings - Configuration Baselines

Hi,

I'm using SCCM 2012 R2. I have a few Windows Server 2008 with SCCM Agent installed. Out of 10, 2 servers (same image) having issues, SCCM Agent returning error code at "Configuration" tab.

Had tried to uninstall and reinstall SCCM Agent. At first after reinstall SCCM Agent, it works fine and able to check on all compliance settings without any error. But after a few days, it started to return error code until now. The issue doesn't resolve permanently.

One of the error are as below

Compliance Baseline : Using registry value to check compliance settings

Error Type : Setting Discovery Error

Error Code : 0x80080005

Error Description : Server execution failed

Error Source : Windows

Kindly assist.

is your client working good ? check ccmexec.log if any issues with sms agent host service  .

check ccmsetup.log/ccmeval.log if client is reinstalling for other reasons.

what does cconfiguration item log (CIagent.log, dcmwmiprovider) says ?

I guess that a CI/baseline is causing that error. Remove all baselines from the client, add them one by one and see if you find the one that breaks it.

other actions on the client working fine ? this is just to check if only configuration tab has issues or total client health function is not working.

you can follow torsten method to track down the issue.

Currently, only using SCCM to check on compliance settings, other features not implemented yet. So far, when click on "Machine Policy Retrieval & Evaluation Cycle", there is a quite delay (~1 hour) to retrieve new baseline compared to other working clients (few minutes) but still able to receive new baseline.

The troublesome clients are in the same collection as other working clients which have same OS version, using same baseline, and out of 10, only 2 clients are not working well.

Does SCCM agent dependable on memory usage? cause I could see these 2 clients memory usage are constantly  ~ 80 %.

How to identify if client health is not working ? what are the symptoms?

Thanks
