SCCM 2012 R2 - Available Applications (On-Demand Applications)

Hi All,

We are in process of migrating the Non-Microsoft Deployment Tool to SCCM 2012 R2 SP1. Earlier, the Machine was deployed with Certain Applications (On-Demand & Mandatory) using Non-Microsoft Tool on all End Points.

Since SCCM is going to replace the deployment tool, we use detection method (Registry String Value, File or Folder) to avoid re-installation and changing the Status (Installation) in Software Center as Installed

This is getting achieved for all Mandatory Applications. Now, the actual scenario is

The Applications are available on the Machine already, and this applications are getting target to the same machines with using detection method, Detection method has to identify the availability of application, If the Application is getting initiated for the installation by the user, will that detection rule works to identify the availability of the application and avoid downloading or re-installing.

We are able to see the Application status is getting changed as Failed in the Software Center, with the above error. The Same detection rule method is working for Mandatory Depl

Hi,

The error translates to, The application was not detected after installation completed. so there is an issue with the detection rule. If you look in appenforce.log and appdiscovery.log where you can see what detection method that fails.
