SCCM 2007 setup issue
Hi, I setup a server with Server 2008 StandardSP/2, SQL 2005 with SP/4, SCCM 2007 R3, Both SQL 2005/SP4 and SCCM2007R3 pass all prerequisites and install with no errors, the problem I am having is that it will create the system management container on the AD domain controller but it will not populate it. The system i have SCCM2007R3 installed on does have full permissions to the system container. The schema has been extended and there are no other AD objects with the site name. Server 2008SP/2, SQL2005/SP4 and SCCMR3 have all been fully updated. Under Site Status, Component Status I am getting warnings with both SMS_HIERARCHY_MANAGER and SMS_SITE_COMPONENT_MANAGER . I do not know where to find the problem i am having. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. John T.

When you set the permisssions did you make sure to do "this object and all child objects" or whatever it says in 2008? John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum/|

Yeah, This object and all child objects was selected. I have tried installing this several times, twice on a virtual server and now once on a physical server. I have the same issues each time.

How did you add permissions? Using a group that the server is a member of or directly?Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | http://blogs.catapultsystems.com/jsandys/default.aspx | Twitter @JasonSandys

I went to the system container on the AD domain controler and chose delegate control, added the computer name that SCCM2007 is running on, chose create a custom task to delegate, This folder, existing objects in this folder, and creation of new objects in this folder, Gave it full controll and chose all 3 general, property specific and creation/deletion of specific child objects.

I don't think that's enough. Please follow the directions on TechNet and ty again: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb633169.aspx.Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | http://blogs.catapultsystems.com/jsandys/default.aspx | Twitter @JasonSandys

I have had this same issue and this has been my resolve for it. In Active Directory after the "System Management" container is created right click on the container, go to properties, then click on the security tab. Make sure the server you are using has full control. After that click on advanced, find the server and click Edit. On the object tab make sure "Apply onto" is set to "This object and all child objects". I have found the default during the install to be "This object only". After this you will need to go into SCCM and right click on your site and select properties. On the properties page go to the Advanced tab. On the Advanced tab un-check all of the check boxes and click "Apply" the recheck the boxes and click "Apply" again. After a few minuets the correct information should be propigated to the "System management" container. This has been done in a test environment and I hope this will help others that might be having the same issue. I also found some of these videos to be helpful http://www.youtube.com/user/dodo3tt#p/search/1/coSRKb7hRkU and followed Microsofts site http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb632492.aspx Bobtrie.
