SCCM 2007 client on Windows XP SP3 is not installed
I use SCCM 2007 Sp2 R2. On some computers with operating system of Windows XP SP3 the client is not installed. Here an installation log-file (ccmsetup.log): Updated security on object C:\WINNT\system32\ccmsetup\ A Fallback Status Point has not been specified. Message with STATEID='100' will not be sent. Running as user "SYSTEM" Detected 6604 MB free disk space on system drive. DetectWindowsEmbeddedFBWF() Detecting OS Version Client OS Version is 5.1, Service Pack Version 3 Client OS is not a supported Windows Embedded Platform ccmsetup IsFileMicrosoftTrusted Verified file 'C:\WINNT\system32\ccmsetup\WindowsXP-KB923845-x86-ENU.exe' is MS signed. Installing file 'C:\WINNT\system32\ccmsetup\WindowsXP-KB923845-x86-ENU.exe' with options '/norestart /quiet /log:C:\WINNT\system32\ccmsetup\WindowsXP-KB923845-x86-ENU.exe.log'. File 'C:\WINNT\system32\ccmsetup\WindowsXP-KB923845-x86-ENU.exe' returned exit code 1603. Finished installing file 'C:\WINNT\system32\ccmsetup\WindowsXP-KB923845-x86-ENU.exe'. Successfully ran BITS check. IsFileMicrosoftTrusted Verified file 'C:\WINNT\system32\ccmsetup\ccmsetup.cab' is MS signed. Successfully extracted manifest file C:\WINNT\system32\ccmsetup\ccmsetup.xml from file C:\WINNT\system32\ccmsetup\ccmsetup.cab. Loading manifest file: C:\WINNT\system32\ccmsetup\ccmsetup.xml Successfully loaded ccmsetup manifest file. Couldn't get directory list for directory 'http://SCCM.RU/CCM_Client/ClientPatch'. This directory may not exist. A Fallback Status Point has not been specified. Message with STATEID='309' will not be sent. Deleted file C:\WINNT\system32\ccmsetup\WindowsXP-KB923845-x86-ENU.exe Deleted file C:\WINNT\system32\ccmsetup\ccmsetup.cab Deleted file C:\WINNT\system32\ccmsetup\ccmsetup.xml I so have understood it tries to instal upgrade WindowsXP-KB923845-x86-ENU.exe for BITS which is intended for WIndows XP SP2 (but for me that Windows XP SP3). Tried to reinstall SP3, has not helped. Why it starts to install this upgrade? What sentences are?

How do you have client install setup? Is this a push or manual install? Are you using Patch=-XXXX in your install string. If so then this is correct, it is trying to install this because you told it to. http://www.sccm-tools.com http://sms-hints-tricks.blogspot.com

Couldn't get directory list for directory 'http://SCCM.RU/CCM_Client/ClientPatch'. This directory may not exist. My bet is that you have not granted access to the share listed above. Remove the Patch statement for the deployment properties and I bet it works.http://www.enhansoft.com/

I used Client Push and manual install. Results are identical. PATCH=-XXXX I did not try to use. Describe how to make more in detail, please.

One difference I see is that the previous didn't download from the MP but the second log did Adding file 'http://SCCM.RU:80/CCM_Client/i386/msrdcoob_x86.exe' to BITS job, saving as 'C:\WINNT\system32\ccmsetup\msrdcoob_x86.exe'http://www.sccm-tools.com http://sms-hints-tricks.blogspot.com
