SCCM 2007 and 2012 local cache folder
I have created a package with install action action that first unzips a zip file into the CCM cache folder then perfoms other actions using the unzipped files.  Would that cause any problems?   I've "heard" should one not muck around in the Cache folder...

Why wouldn't you use the Temp folder?

Yes it will cause some problems.

Thanks Garth, that sounds like a plan!

Just so I can better understand, what kinds of problems can you foresee?

ConfigMgr does try to clean the cache up based on certain criteria so it's possible this may interfere with that. Best to always use a folder not controlled by a specific application like the Windows\Temp folder.
