SCCM 2007 USMT configuration file .xml
Hi, I'm using SCCM 2007 r3 with USMT 4. I have a script to not copy over the program files in the USMT process. -------- <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <migration urlid="http://www.microsoft.com/migration/1.0/migxmlext/miguser"> <component type="Documents" context="System"> <displayName>Test</displayName> <role role="Data"> <rules> <include> <objectSet> <script>MigXmlHelper.GenerateDrivePatterns ("* [*.doc]", "Fixed")</script> <script>MigXmlHelper.GenerateDrivePatterns ("* [*.xls]", "Fixed")</script> <script>MigXmlHelper.GenerateDrivePatterns ("* [*.ppt]", "Fixed")</script> </objectSet> </include> <unconditionalExclude> <objectSet> <pattern type="File">C:\Program Files\* [*]</pattern> <pattern type="File">C:\Windows\* [*]</pattern> </objectSet> </unconditionalExclude> </rules> </role> </component> </migration> ---------------- I do not see how to add the file or what syntax to use? in the task sequence I browse to Capture files and settings, see screen shot. I need to run this xml file during the process so that all the program files do not show up after the USMT process. I don't know what to enter in the filename? Wave~Chaser

in the two sub directories of the USMT package (amd64 and x86) you'll find several XML files, such as migapp.xml, miguser.xml, migdocs.xml these files are the base files and can be used as templates for your own custom xml files such as the one above, so if you want to include your file above, then call it mycustom.xml and copy it to both the amd64 and x86 usmt foders, then specify the filename (mycustom.xml) in the filename box above, click Add then ok. to make xml files for USMT read this > http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc749416%28WS.10%29.aspx My step by step SCCM Guides I'm on Twitter > ncbrady

dont forget to update your USMT package to yuour dp's after adding the xml file, and avoid editing the XML files provided, create ones from scratch My step by step SCCM Guides I'm on Twitter > ncbrady
