SCCM 2007 SP2 Upgrade - When to update clients
Hi, I've been searching for this all day and can't get the answer. Sorry if it's been covered off before, but I need peace of mind before proceeding. We're currently running SCCM 2007 SP1 R2 and I'm planning the SP2 upgrade. My query is quite simple. Do the clients need to be upgraded at the same time as the server, or can this happen at a later time? Say a week later. Could I experience issues with the SP1 (4.00.6221.1000) client and SCCM 2007 SP2 R2? Also, with the Client upgrade, I've read this: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb632690.aspx. After creating the package, is it just a matter of advertiseing it to all clients and updating all Task Sequences to use the new, updated, client? And finally, I know it's a little off topic, but another quick question. The checklist (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee344152.aspx) advises to backup any boot images and *.mof files - Can I replace our customised files once the upgrade is complete, or do they need to be customised again for SP2 environments? Thanks in advance. Matt

Hi, 1) No the SP1 clients are fully supported on a SCCM SP2 server. 2) Yes, that method can be used to upgrade the client 3) I normally copy and paste my own modifications into the new mof file.Kent Agerlund | http://scug.dk/members/Agerlund/default.aspx | The Danish community for System Center products
