SCCM 2007 SP2 Prerequisite checker issue with SQL
Hi Experts, I have 2 VMs in my Hyper-V lab. Both are running Server 2008R2 STD. Now the first one is configured as the Domain Controller. The other one is domain member server and i have successfully installed SQL Sever 2008 on it with all the features. When i run Prerequisite checker from SCCM 2007 SP2 installer it comes up with an error, as below - ------------------ "SQL Sever sysadmin rights" Either the user account running Configuration Manager Setup does not have sysadmin SQL Server role permissions on the SQL Server instance targeted for site database installation or the SQL Server instance could not be contacted to verify permissions. Setup cannot continue. ------------------ I logged in as Domain Administrator and mentioned the same account during SQL installation , even i logged in with Domain Administrator for SCCM installation. Rebooted the server couple of times and restarted the SQL services, no luck so far. Can anyone get me out of this error so that i can successfully install SCCM 2007 SP2.

Just because you are a domain admin, does not mean that you are a SQL sysadm. You should open SQL Management Studio and verify that you have access using the account you are installing with.Jason | http://blog.configmgrftw.com | Twitter @JasonSandys

Hello Garth and Jason, Thanks for your comment. I am not sure how to check whether CM07 server itself has admin rights within SQL, could you pls guide me, i am not familiar with SQL server management. On SQL Management Studio I have created a new login under security and provided credentials for domain admin and checked ON - sysadmin under the 'Server Roles', no luck. Pls suggest.
