I have a SCCM 2007 SP2 system and the SMS_Executive terminated unexpecteldy... The crash log is listed below.... I have seen this before. Basically there's some file(s) in one of your inboxes that can't be processed for some reason. I had the exact same thing happen before. It's sorta hard to troubleshoot, if I were you I'd call CSS. If that's not an option check for old files in your inboxes and get rid of them. The offending files will just sit there causing issues over and over until they are gone becuase SCCM can't process them. You will also see issues when SCCM Backup runs and it hits those files. I have been seeing similar post-backup behavior as well. The SMS Exec starts, reports as started. The SMS Component Manager then fails to spawn all of the sub processes. We have traced it to the service restarting after backup. We are going to look at all of the inboxes and the sitecomp.log to get a better idea. If we come up with a solution we will post it here.

The hotfix did not work. We put a sleep command in our backup file. The pause allowed ConfigMgr to process and catch upThe early bird gets the worm. The second mouse gets the cheese.
