SCCM 2007 Reports Not Working
I have a new install of SCCM2007 R2 on a 2003 box, pointed to an external SQL box (also 2003) for the database. Clients seem to be communicating correctly and I can push out software. I installed IIS, asp.net, and .net framework 3.5 and then added the reporting point role on the site server. The install seems to go fine as indicated in the smsreportinginstall.log file but when I try to run a report i get "http error 500 page cannot be displayed". This happens in the console and in a browser. I checked for the smsreporting.log file but none exist. I checked inetmgr and see SMSReporting in the websites but I must be missing something. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the RP? Is the MP working per mplist and mpcert? That will tell u if IIS is broke, I assume it's not since you can push software.John Marcum | http://www.TrueSec.com/en/Training.htm | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum

I tried un/reinstalling the MP and the reporting point and the MP and IIS seem to be working, I get mplist and mpcert pages without error. Everything seems to be ok in the Component Status and Site System status but I cannot get past the http 500 error and there is no smsreporting.log file. Any ideas?

Have you tried removing the Reporting Point, and adding it back? You won't lose custom reports. Those are stored in the DB--so it's really not that big of a deal.Standardize. Simplify. Automate.

Yes, I've tried removing the reporting point and then adding it again. The SMSReportingInstall.log file says the install is successful but there are no other reporting logs that I can find and I keep getting the http 500 error from both the console and from a browser.

I found something interesting in my IIS logs when trying to run a report. It doesnt matter which report I run I consistently get this error in the IIS logs:2009-10-06 13:54:00 2002:8eee:408e::8eee:408e GET /SMSReporting_SJ1/Report.aspReportId=125|311|800a01ad|ActiveX_component_can't_create_object:_'Scripting.FileSystemObject' 80 XXXXXXXXX\Administrator 2002:8eee:408f::8eee:408f Mozilla/4.0+(compatible;+MSIE+7.0;+Windows+NT+6.0;+SLCC1;+.NET+CLR+2.0.50727;+.NET+CLR+3.5.30729;+.NET+CLR+3.0.30729) 500 0 0 203For some reason the Active X component cant create the object

Hello,After beating my head against the wall I was able to find the answer to this issue.By simply running the following command on the reporting point server:regsvr32 scrrunBOOM it works now.

I've tried all the above mentioned items and still cannot get the reports to display. I am running SCCM 4.00.6221.1000on a 03 SP2 server. I know alittle about IIS but can see that WebDAV is correctly configured. In this version of IIS, there isn't much to configure with WebDAV. I got one of our web developers to verify. Here is the error when i try to open the reports. Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a01a8' Object required: 'Session(...)' /SMSReporting_RO1/Report.asp, line 6 No matter what report I use, I get the same error although the line may differ. It depends on what ling contains the code to create a session. Everythign else is working fine as I deploy OS and apps frequently and without issues. What else can I try? From my reports.asp file, here are the first few lines showing the cause.Jimm

I also found articles saying to register the following dlls from wwwroot\SMSComponent:from cmd prompt run SMSRPH.exe /servicethe regsvr32 for thesesmscomponent.dllFormatMessageCtl.dllbouce IIS and it still fails at the same point. I also looked at the file NTFS ACLs. I added everyone FC and it still fails..Jimm

Try making sure that the "World Wide Web Publishing Service" (W3SVC) is started on your reporting pioint. If that isnt running then you will definitly get a "404" error on your web reports.
