SCCM 2007 R3 and AD LDS support
Hi there, I have a quick question (tried to find such topic, but no success) - is (and if yes, are there any special instructions) SCCM 2007 R3 support active directory schema extension on Lightweight Directory Services instance or I need to extend the schema on AD Domain Services? I've saw somewhere that SCCM 2012 is/will support AD LDS and at the moment I can't see any point to extend the schema since with the next version it will not be necessary. Thank you in advance to all of you! Best Regards, Hristo Voyvodov

extend the schema since with the next version it will not be necessary. Who told you that? There will be a schema extension even for CM12. Please keep in mind that this forum is for ConfigMgr 2007 questions only. CM12 ones should go to: http://innovation.connect.microsoft.com/discussions?ProjectName=configmgrbeta AD LDS is not supported as far as I know.Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de

See, the technet article says if you have already extended schema for SCCM 2007 then there is no need to extend it again. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg682088.aspx Are there new Active Directory schema extensions for Configuration Manager 2012? No. The Active Directory schema extensions for Configuration Manager 2012 are unchanged from those used by Configuration Manager 2007. If you extended the schema for Configuration Manager 2007, you do not need to extend the schema again for Configuration Manager 2012. Who told you that? There will be a schema extension even for CM12. Yeah, I know that schema extension will be needed for CM12 and there are no changes, but with CM12 I can do it in LDS. That's why I say that will be not necessary :). However, I suppose LDS is not supported for CM07 and I'll have to extend AD DS schema. Thank you for the answer.
