SCCM 2007 R2 SP2 : OSD Issue - Windows 7 SP1
Hello All, I have a problem while deploying Windows 7 SP1 with SCCM 2007 R2 SP2. The System is continuously rebooting with Boot CD or Standalone Media. SCCM Server : OS - Windows 2003 SP2 SCCM 2007 R2 SP2 SQL (SCCM DB) Server : OS : Windows 2003 SP2 and WAIK 3.0 is installed. Problem : We have upgraded WAIK 2.0 to WAIK 3.0 inorder to deploy Windows 7 SP1. We have created bootable media task sequence to deploy Windows 7 SP1. But The System is continuously rebooting with Boot CD or Standalone Media and its not taking the Task Sequence. Please let me know whether Windows 7 SP1 OSD is supported Under SCCM 2007 R2 SP2. Please help me to fix this issue.

Dear, you have to install the following hotfix to add windows 7 SP 1 to the supported OS http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2489044/en-us

Upgrading the WAIK from 2.0 to 3.0 is part of SP2. Are you sure that's what you did? If so, then your boot images are probably not correct. I'm not sure of the exact path to follow to correct them but reapplying SP2 would be where I would start. You could probably just create new ones also. Also note that continuous reboots in OSD at the beginning of the WinPE portion are almost always the result of the lack of a NIC driver in the boot/WinPE image. You can easily verify this by dropping to the command prompt before the reboot and doing an ipconfig. Finally, the update that medhatrizk has nothing to do with OSD; this hotfix simply adds SP1 to some internal lists.Jason | http://blog.configmgrftw.com

When you are using a standalone media , its worth checking your boot sequence / NIC drivers. As perviously mentioned in win PE I experianced this before, machine rebooting and then later by including the appropriate NIC drivers to the boot image fixed this issue.
