SCCM 2007 Migrating existing WSUS to SUP
Greetings, I have recently inherited the responsibility of managing a SCCM 2007 server. I have an existing SCCM 2007 and a standalone WSUS 3.0 SP2 setup on the same server and both are working fine separately. I would like to integrate the WSUS to work with the SCCM as a SUP the way it was intended to work. I understand that I need to delete the software updates metadata from the database prior to configuring it as a SUP but how can I accomplish that without having to uninstall and reinstall WSUS since both halves are working now, I don't want to complicate things and maybe cause something to break. Can I export the data from the WSUS and then import it into the SUP or is that a bad idea? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I often find it easiest to perform a clean WSUS installation. It only takes a little while to perform the re-install. Once you have the wsus running everything configured from the ConfigMgr. console.Kent Agerlund | http://scug.dk/members/Agerlund/default.aspx | The Danish community for System Center products

Will I need to clean up anything after the uninstall or will the SQL tables be deleted upon completion of the uninstall? Should I backup the data prior to the uninstall, just in case?

You can select to delete the data during the uninstall. New metadata will be downloaded from Microsoft Update after you have configured the SUP.Kent Agerlund | http://scug.dk/members/Agerlund/default.aspx | The Danish community for System Center products
