It is a bad idea to rebuild the WMI database. We had issues launching the SCCM console and we literally spent days attempting to restore services with Microsoft Support in response to a WMI database corruption on the SMS provider. We were initially told to rebuild the database which was a mistake from the onset. We ended rolling back the rebuild and was instead able to repair the WMI databse by issuing the winmgmt /salvagerepository command, affter which we forced a repair of SCCM and reinstalling the SMS provider.
