I'm new to SCCM and have a question about installing the client. My console does not indicate any of my clients are installed. I pulled this log from one of my clients. That is correct. I found this entry in one of my logs. SMS Site Component Manager faild to install component SMS_MP_CONTROL_MANAGER on server WIN2K8STD1. The WebDAV server extension is either not installed or not configured properly. Solution: Make sure WebDAV is installed and enabled. Make sure there is an authoring rule that allow "All users" read access to "All content". Make sure the WebDAV settings "Allow anonymous property queries" and "Allow property queries with infinite depth" are set to "true" and "Allow Custom Properties" is set to false. But with that said the Web DAV is set up just as is described in the message at the server level and it is the same at the site level. I also set up the AD as described in many posting. I also have the publish to AD check box checked. I know i'm missing something but i can't figure uout what it is. Is there some log that would tell me what is configured wrong and why the SMS_MP_CONTROL_MANAGER will not start. Thanks, John Thanks, John

Hi, The HTTP 404 stands for the “object not found”. First, please refer to the link which Jannes provide to check the WebDAV server extension is installed or configured properly. If the issue persists, please check if the "web service extension" under the IIS console is empty. If so, please reboot the IIS related service on the Management Point which the client access to: 1. Log on to the MP server, and open command prompt. 2. Enter iisreset After that, please reinstall the MP and test the issue.
