The actual error is 80072efe that translates to ERROR_INTERNET_CONNECTION_ABORTED, so make sure that there are no firewall or networking issues. "Client OS is not a supported Windows Embedded Platform" is always listed and no need to worry about.Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de

As Torsten stated, that "error" message is deceptive, perhaps better wording would be "Client OS is not [one of the] supported Windows Embedded Platform[s]". It does not mean that it is not supported, just that it is not Windows Embedded.Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | Twitter @JasonSandys

Dear Torsten, I have tested the connectivity from the SCCM server with wbemtest and it connects OK (after allowing file & print and WMI) any other issues? BTW, the client machine cannot reach internet, if that is required i need to allow this particular ip in the proxy. please suggest Kind regards Plal
May 12th, 2011 2:50am

You have to test the communication from the client to the management point (http) and not server to client (wmi). See http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb932118.aspxTorsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de

I restarted the server, and it worked fine, part of the ccmsetup.log is attached (FYI). The client is appearing in the collection as approved as well. I think there was some issue with IIS service, as I could see from another thread this error may be related to iis. Thanks anyways for your inputs and time Kind regards Plal ================= <![LOG[MSI: Action 11:27:08: CcmRegisterSystemTaskRollback.
