SCCM / WinPE Wallpaper overwrites previous wallpaper on login
So, this is an odd one, I'm not sure if this is working as intended or if something else is going on. I've got an OSD TS advertised to a collection, client sees it, successfully goes through all the steps, but then when I log in with the local admin account, the wallpaper image I see is that of the default WinPE / SCCM image. I'm dealing exclusively with Windows 7 Enterprise. Anyone know what could cause this? The steps I have are: 1. Capture Windows Settings 2. Capture Network Settings 3. Restart in Windows PE 4. Format & Partition Disk 5. Apply Operating System 6. Apply Device Drivers 7. Apply Windows Settings 8. Apply Network Settings 9. Setup Windows & ConfigMgr 10. Install Updates 11. Install MS Forefront Once logged in I can toggle the theme from what it's at (with the SCCM wallpaper image) to a built-in Windows 7 theme, then back to the previous one, and the wallpaper image gets set correctly. I'm ecstatic my steps are working, but this is the weirdest, smallest quirk I've run into thus far.

I have the same problem, even with a clean SCCM and DC installs. I already tried a couple of "fixes" but none seem to fix the problem. Did you happen to find any fix it?

I have the same problem. We build a windows 7 enterprise image with sccm and deploy this image with an unattended.xml which sets the defautl theme including a custom background wallpaper for users. The users are configured to use roaming profiles. After successful deployment a user logs on and gets the WinPE/SCCM background wallpaper. In the theme options the name of the custom wallpaper is set correctly so this schould be right. Then, if i only click on background under theme options the correct image will be displayed. As this post is very old. Maybe someone have allready a fix? Best regards, Markus

only happens with windows 7 to windows 7 migrations, if you log off and logon again all is ok, can you confirm that pls ? you can try this workaround At the end of the TS run the following command: %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\shutdown.exe /r /t 30 cheers niall My step by step SCCM Guides I'm on Twitter > ncbrady
