SCCM - Configuration Manager Setup Cannot Continue - Setup cannot create the database SQL
I am installaing SCCM07 - All the pre-requisits are ok. I am planing to allocate the SQL database on a SQL server named - SQL2005 I have given access to the SCCM07 computer account on the SQL2005 (SQL server) the SCCM07 computer account has been granted as member of the local admin group on the SQL2005 server. On the SCCM Database server wizard:SQL server and instance, if applicable I type:SQL2005 (name of the server, I do not specify any instance)ConfigMagr site_database:SMS_TESTThe installation begins but at some point I get the following message "Setup cannot create the database on the SQL Server"I am performing the installation with an account that is member of the domain admin group. And I haven't removed the default settings of domain admins being members of the sysadmin role on the SQL server. Any suggestions? Thanks.llara

Have you given the installation account access to the SQL database? I think it will need to be in the sysadmin (as sanka suggests above). If this is not possible because you have restrictive DBAs then get them to create the SMS_TEST database butmake the installation account a dbowner. This should allow the installation to create all the tables.Hope this helps.

Hi llara, You may need to grant necessary right for SCCM service account and computer account on the SQL server using SQL Server 2005 Surface Area Configuration. This may solve your problem.

I think you changed the default value of newly created database and and log file path using SQL Management Studio. You must create manually the folders for new database and log files. When you create folders and retry to install, SCCM setup can continue.
