SCCM/FEP 2010 Installation fails when installing site server extension
Hi All, I appreciate this might not be the right post for this but I have already posted the same question in the Forefront Endpoint Protection forum with little luck. As I might have a problem with my SCCM environment I thought I might find help here as well Here is the issue, I am trying to install FEP 2010 on my SCCM server and the installation fails - SCCM Version: 2007 SP2 R2 - Server version: 2008 SP2 32-bit - FEP is the RTM version not beta nor eval - FEP serversetup passes all the pre-req - SCCM have been working without problems for 2 years The console installs fine so does the client, but when serversetup gets to install the site server extension it just fails I think the problem is the following (see log below) but I have no idea what it means let alone how to fix it Thanks Paolo Extract from FEPext log: CAQuietExec: SmsAdminUISnapIn Information: 1 : Refresh of SCF successful CAQuietExec: SmsAdminUISnapIn Information: 1 : ResultObject: '49c0b996-c50a-4db8-981e-96534645b9a9' CAQuietExec: 11:09:08.823 Evaluation settings do not exist CAQuietExec: 11:09:08.823 05/11/2011 11:09:08 Done installing component: LicensingManager CAQuietExec: 11:09:08.823 05/11/2011 11:09:08 Start installing component: WebReportsManager CAQuietExec: 11:09:08.824 Installing Web Reports - Overview and troubleshooting CAQuietExec: 11:09:08.825 Creating Create FEP Computer Details Report CAQuietExec: 11:09:08.836 CreateReport called with report Name 'FEP information for a specific computer' CAQuietExec: 11:09:08.836 DeleteReport called with report Name 'FEP information for a specific computer' CAQuietExec: SmsAdminUISnapIn Information: 1 : SmsClassWrapper.GetInstances - SELECT * FROM SMS_Report WHERE Name = "FEP information for a specific computer" AND Category = "FEP" CAQuietExec: SmsAdminUISnapIn Information: 1 : Executing WQL: 'SELECT * FROM SMS_Report WHERE Name = "FEP information for a specific computer" AND Category = "FEP"' CAQuietExec: SmsAdminUISnapIn Information: 1 : ResultObject: 'e50d9176-53db-4330-9d7b-72c8b8f36f94' CAQuietExec: 11:09:08.929 There are 0 reports with name 'FEP information for a specific computer' and category 'FEP' CAQuietExec: 11:09:08.929 Creating Report 'FEP information for a specific computer' CAQuietExec: SmsAdminUISnapIn Error: 1 : System.Management.ManagementException\r\nGeneric failure \r\n at System.Management.ManagementException.ThrowWithExtendedInfo(ManagementStatus errorCode) CAQuietExec: at System.Management.ManagementObject.Put(PutOptions options) CAQuietExec: at Microsoft.ConfigurationManagement.ManagementProvider.WqlQueryEngine.WqlResultObject.Put(ReportProgress progressReport)\r\nManagementException details: instance of SMS_ExtendedStatus { CauseInfo = ""; Description = "Could not set PARSEONLY on."; ErrorCode = 2169048834; File = "e:\\nts_sms_fre\\sms\\siteserver\\sdk_provider\\smsprov\\sspreport.cpp"; Line = 999; Operation = "PutInstance"; ParameterInfo = ""; ProviderName = "ExtnProv"; SQLMessage = "*** Unknown SQL Error!"; SQLSeverity = 16; SQLStatus = 50000; StatusCode = 2147749889; }; \r\n CAQuietExec: 11:09:09.152 05/11/2011 11:09:09 Failed installing component WebReportsManager, Rolling back the installation. You could try running this command manually to see if SQL is returning an error: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms178629.aspx, but that's just a complete shot in the dark. SQL logs might also be useful.Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de

Hi Torsten, Thanks for the quick reply I have tried that already here is the result: Using parse button: .Net SqlClient Data Provider: Msg 0, Level 11, State 0, Line 0 A severe error occurred on the current command. The results, if any, should be discarded. Using execute button: Msg 0, Level 11, State 0, Line 0 A severe error occurred on the current command. The results, if any, should be discarded. Went through SQL logs but there isn't nothing Paolo

So it's a SQL issue then. You should ask that question in a SQL forum. because there's a higher chance of getting an answer there.Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de

Problem has been fixed, upgrading to SQL 2005 SP4 from SP3 fixed the problem
