Running windows 10 insider, Building a new pc, how to transfer activation?

due to me testing windows 10 i have not activated it in the normal way one would, so i am going to build a new pc as im getting ready for 4K gaming, how would i go about activating this copy of windows on that pc? do i just transfer my hard drive?

i would rather do a whole new instilation of windows 10 due to drivers and new cpu/gpu/mobo e.c.t?

as a tester we got windows 10 free so i should still get it free as i want to run the copy im using now. im not trying to get another free copy out of microsoft or anything

I doubt that you will be able to do that. It will all be fine if you stay in the Insiders program on your current hardware, but my guess is that changing the hardware will almost certainly kill the activation.

You cannot join the Insiders program now unless you are running an activated version of Windows 10. All Insider product keys from before the official release of Windows 10 no longer activate.

To do a clean install of Windows 10 on new hardware you would need to buy a Windows 10 product key.

Hi cap'n pimp,

Is the system upgrade from a previous version?

"Transfer activation"
As far as I know, the machines` hardware information(motherboard, hard drive and so on) will be registered to the server when we activated the system. It will ensure one product key is only for one machine. Besides, the drivers won`t work on another machine. So I am afraid it is not available.

" windows 10 free so i should still get it free as i want to run the copy im using now"
NO, Windows 10 is not free. It is just for free to upgrade from a previous genuine version.
