Running a MOSS site on WSS server
Hi, I have a SharePoint site running on MOSS 2007 and with Office publishing feature activated. I later restored this site on a server which has only WSSv3 installed. Now when I go to do some operations on this new site such as changing theme, I keep on getting error "Feature <GUID> is not installed in this farm." And the guid is for office publishing feature. Is there any way to remove this feature references from the new site? Thanks Sandeep

It is interesting that the site would have even restored. You can not resore a MOSS site to a WSS server. The publishing bits are a "feature" inside of MOSS and those features are not available in WSS. I recommend that you upgrade your WSS to a MOSS server.I hope this helps and answers your question-Jeff DeVerter, MCSERackspaceblog:http://www.social-point.comtwitter: http://www.twitter.com/jdeverter
