Root Management Server Unavailable error
Dear All, We have SCOM R2 with a single db server. There are a lot of unsolved solutions for this error as below:- The root management server (Healthservice) has stopped heartbeating soon after 12/31/2010 2:48:01 AM. This adversely affects all availability calculation for the entire management group. This error closes by itself everyday and opens up. The first alert had the following description: The specific reason code is 25 and description is " The health service was unable to logon the action account, please check the eventlog on the root health service for more information. The newer ones do not have any specific code. Can someone tell me the impact of this alert and how it can be resolved? I have tried deleting the health service store and restarting all services but it doesnt seem to resolve the problem. One of the resolution states on setting DB to autogrow. But, I am not sure if we need to do that. Appreciate your feedback and happy new year to all... Thanks, Sash

the error message is your friend. From what it says, the action account is unable to log in. This is very likely due to a password expiry for the domain account you are using as the local action account - OR - a policy change that took effect on the first of the month that prevens localsystem from having log-in-locally permissions. Regarding " setting DB to autogrow" , check the free space in the DB, from SQL Management Studio; Right Clik on the DB>Reports>Standard Reports> Disk Ussage

I was told that the Health Service state was renamed but that was not done. Stopping, Renaming and Restarting resolved the issue. BTW, why dont I get replies to my email address for the question I raise in the forum?
