Hi, Since 15th May I have received almost 50 "Root Management Server Unavailable" alert. Alert Description: The root management server (Healthservice) has stopped heartbeating soon after 5/17/2011 5:15:10 PM. This adversely affects all availability calculation for the entire management group. I have also checked eventviewer on RMS server, there was some Error generated,like:Event ID:10830(frequently) & Event ID:1102 (frequently) and Event ID: 21042 (information) always generating before Event ID: 10830. Event ID:10830 An alert couldn't be inserted to the database. This could have happened because of one of the following reasons: - Alert is stale. The alert is generated by an MP recently deleted. - Database connectivity problems or database running out of space. - Alert received is not valid. The following details should help to further diagnose: Details: RuleId:a5fde8f2-dc9c-f945-1300-8d12ee6b3d3d. HealthServiceId:2df0bb09-0190-8a33-861f-f23ff5122d8b. The INSERT statement conflicted with the FOREIGN KEY constraint "FK_Alert_BaseManagedEntity". The conflict occurred in database "OperationsManager", table "dbo.BaseManagedEntity", column 'BaseManagedEntityId'. The statement has been terminated.RuleId:a5fde8f2-dc9c-f945-1300-8d12ee6b3d3d. HealthServiceId:75baeccc-5a3e-8906-e9f0-59aaf16d2df7. The INSERT statement conflicted with the FOREIGN KEY constraint "FK_Alert_BaseManagedEntity". The conflict occurred in database "OperationsManager", table "dbo.BaseManagedEntity", column 'BaseManagedEntityId'. The statement has been terminated.. Event ID:1102 Rule/Monitor "Microsoft.Windows.DNSServer.Library.Depends.DomainSecurityDependsOnZoneSecurity" running for instance "usfiportal.usfc.com" with id:"{319C48ED-053E-A252-C7DE-D079E1E5398D}" cannot be initialized and will not be loaded. Management group "XYZSCOM" Event ID: 21042 Operations Manager has discarded 1 items in management group XYZSCOM, which came from SERVER2K8-CCR.abc.com. These items have been discarded because no valid route exists at this time. This can happen when new devices are added to the topology but the complete topology has not been distributed yet. The discarded items will be regenerated.  Please help me to resolve this issue. Syed

No database,disk space & networkconnection issues. Nothing to change in database but i received 4 to 5 notification mail on 15th May 2011, which have unreadable subject line(Ugc2VuZCBxdWV1ZSBvbiB0aGlzIHN5c3R). Syed

Hi, Based on my research, I would like to suggest the following: 1. Clearing the HealthService queue on RMS: 1) Stop System Center Management service. 2) Go to C:\Program Files\System Center Operations Manager 2007\, and rename the “Health Service State” folder. 3) Restart System Center Management service. 2. Restart the following services and see if it works: System Center Management service System Center Management Configuration service System Center Data Access service Hope this helps. Hi Nicholas, One more thing happen in my scom setup, today i got an alert from all 300 servers which are in scom.And that alert is: 75.6285858154297: The Operations Manager Health Service send queue on this system is filling up Alert Description: Source: VCSQL.abc.com When the Operations Manager Health Service is receiving data faster than it can send that data out, it will begin queuing the excess data. The queue has a fixed size and if that is reached, then the Health service will start grooming data out of the queue. When this alert was generated, the "Send Queue % Used" counter for this system was 75.6285858154297. Refer to the knowledge for more details on possible causes and troubleshooting steps.
