Retiring OLD Apps

I have old apps that i want to retire.

What are the best practice over here, i saw that if you Right click and APP, there is an Option for Retire, and also for Delete.

What happen when you retire an app for example, that was in task sequence for OSD?

Also, if you Delete and APP,  it also delete The files from the Source Folders?  What happen with the files in the distribution points?

Thanks in advance guys!

"Retire" just prevents new deployments of that application, so you definitely want to Delete them. The Delete wizard will tell you if the Application has any deployments and if it's reference in any task sequences. You'll need to remove the Application from the task sequences before deleting it.

Deleting an Application removes the files from your DPs, but it does not delete the source files that the Application pulls from. You'll need to delete those manually.

Deleting an app will remove the files from all DPs, but not from the source directory.
Retiring an app that was in a TS has no effects.
