Restrict drives however be able to open one folder with documents inside
Hi, I basically want all users to have full restrictions in place except for one folder that has the documents they need. Currently I can create a shortcut directly to document so it opens in Acrobat Reader however if I try to shortcut to a folder it says restrictions in place prohibit this. Once again I have full restrictions enabled except for Acrobat Reader which I am not blocking and all drives are hidden. I tried unhiding one drive letter and mapping to that but there must be another restriction in place that is stopping folders from opening.

Hi EHCLASHA, can you let me know the exact error message? Under a fully restricted account, I can send shortcuts including files and folders to Desktop with the restriction "Prevent users from saving files to the desktop" with "Lock profile to prevent the user from making permanent changes" checked and drive C is hidden.Sean Zhu - MSFT

Hi, It just says "The operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator". I can create a shortcut to a file and that works but it seems like it will not let me open a folder where I may have several files. Like I said I have all system and windows features enabled and drives hidden except for the profile is not locked as you have done.

Hi EHCLASHA, I suggest you temporarily disable "Hide drives" restriction on the target drive in Windows SteadyState and see the result.Sean Zhu - MSFT
