Restoring a Site to a New Site Collection without triggering user alerts?
I hope this is an easy question.
We're moving single sites over to a separate site collection to work on migration issues for 2010. When we restore a backup of a site to the new site collection, ALL of the user alerts are being triggered and causing a lot of confusion for our users. I'm
striking out on searching for a solution, so I'm hoping someone here can tell me. Turning off outgoing email on our farm is definitely not a solution.Jeff Scroggin

You can use STSADM to disable the alerts on the target site application; -
stsadm -o setproperty -propertyname alerts-enabled -propertyvalue false -url http://Web_App-URL
You can reactivate them with; -
stsadm -o setproperty -propertyname alerts-enabled -propertyvalue true -url http://Web_App-URL
Hope that helpsSteven Andrews | SharePoint Professional | http://www.twitter.com/backpackerd00d | https://baron72.wordpress.com/
