Windows Server 2008 requires WSS 3.0 SP1 to install, and you should be able to restore it to a Windows 2008 Server as most of the information is stored in database and it is server irrelevance.

Try connecting to the SQL Server using Management studio using the same credentials that you used from the sharepoint server.
Please inform about the results.

Hi,
thanks for the reply.
i can't connect to the database using the credentials that i use in SharePoint.
but, when i change the credential on SharePoint setup, it still can't connect, the error message was:
The username entered must be the same as the database access account for the server farm you wish to join.AddinGanteng

Instead of changing the credentials on sharepoint why dont you give the user you were originally using rights on the database server.
Also, you have mentioned that you are changing the WFE from Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008. What about the database server?
Is the database server same or different? Have you kept your database on the same server as sharepoint?
Also, what credentials had you mentioned during sharepoint installation and why can't you use the same credentials for restoring your database?

Yes, i was changing the WFE from Windows 2003 to Windows 2008, but i use the same SQL Server, it's on a different machine.
i've checked in my Active Directory for the credentials, it wasn't locked. I've checked on SQL Server security, the credentials is there. but when i want to restore SharePoint using it (for example DOMAINNAME\SHAREPOINTADMIN), it returns error "Access
is denied."AddinGanteng
