I am trying to do a Restore from Backup from the Sharepoint --> Central Administrator --> Operations --> Restore from Backup. The status shows me as Completed (without any errors). But when I try to access the restored site using the URL, it gives me an error that "Page cannot be displayed". Moreover, it does not make any entry in the IIS and no new virtual directories are created. Also, no virtual directory is created under \\Wss\VirtualDirectories folder. I am using Windows Sharepoint Server 7.0

Assuming backup was created from central admin, what exactly did u backup? Not only is there no Windows Sharepoint Server 7.0, there is also no Windows Sharepoint Server 3.0. Note too (TaherHafiji) that providing accurate product information will speed up responses to your posts. Saving that you want urgent help is annoying because it is saying that your problem is more important than anyone else who posts here. Don't write this kind of thing (asap is just as bad) in future. Instead post to the right forum; with a good title (restore from backup is slightly too general) and with accurate product information and you will usually get fast responses. But don't demand them.
