No custom code of any sort, just using the default sharepoint document library.

Hi, Have you configured AAM in your web application? If yes, AAM may cause the issue. Please verify the AAM settings in Central Administration > Operations > Alternate Access Mappings is configured correctly. See Plan alternate access mappings (Windows SharePoint Services) (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc288609.aspx) for more information.Xue-Mei Chang

Thank you for your response, out AAM looks like it is configured properly: The first one is Central Admin http://hostname:12857 Default http://hostname:12857 http://sharepoint.domain.com Default http://sharepoint.domain.com https://sharepoint.domain.com Internet https://sharepoint.domain.com The document version restore used to function and for some reason stopped functioning. We have upgraded to service pack 2 with no change to the problem, and there are no custom web parts or scripts added to the sharepoint site. TIA

Error turned out to be that the firewall was blocking certain portions of sharepoint traffic. Created a non-restrictive web listener and started working again. Moderator Notes: 1. Please don't propose your own posts as answers. If you are the Original Poster in a thread it is OK to mark your own post but only if the solution didn't use any help from other posts in the thread. 2. You were not the OP. The OP's question is the one we are looking for an answer to.

My answer was the fix... ISA 2006 was blocking portions of the traffic. I created a new site publising rule listing for the URL and started working.

I presume the previous post is actually asking why I unproposed the post from you before it. 1. You were not the original poster. (I.e the person who started the thread) You were the first replier in the thread so the OP still hasn't confirmed that he has an answer. 2. You had proposed your own post as an answer. (Not the idea of propose a post as answer - it is for proposing the answers of other people) 3. Only the original poster can mark (mark directly) his own post as an answer to close a thread. (Often incorrectly because the answer is actually in a reply he got) (Moderator) Later: 11 minutes after I posted this, you proposed another post of yours as an answer. Continue with this if you really want to have the Moderator watch your every move in these forums. If my answer cannot be the answer to my question, then how do I close this question?

Once again. It is NOT your question. It is the question of the original poster IBMdevelopment to whom you replied (asking for more information) the day he posted his starter question. We are still waiting for *him* to say that his question has been solved.
