Restore ImmedSubscriptions table to "Supported" state
Running MOSS 2007 SP1 64 bit. We've been having issues getting immediate alerts functioning in our site for a while. One of the ideas I saw floating around other forums was to clear the contents of the ImmedSubscriptions table (I know this is a big no-no, but we were trying anything we could). I did not alter the structure of the table in any way - all columns are in their default state, I just cleared the data. This was about a month ago. Now we need support from MS, but they will not support it because that table's contents were cleared (me and my big mouth told them I cleared it). Is it possible that installing SP2 will "restore" the ImmedSubscriptions table to the "supported" state? Any advice on correcting the ImmedSubscriptions table other than trying to find the month old farm backup and restoring it? Thanks. Russ

> I did not alter the structure of the table in any way - all columns are in their default state, I just cleared the data. MS don't even approve of reading something, so clearly they will not be happy about direct deletions. > Now we need support from MS, but they will not support it Which you no doubt knew would be the case. There have been enough warnings about it in these forums every time someone has suggested direct action against the SP databases. > Any advice on correcting the ImmedSubscriptions table other than trying to find the month old farm backup and restoring it? Backup and Restore seems to be the only sensible approach. Anything else and you may well be coming back in another month with a problem caused by that whatever fix is suggested here (and by then your good backup will be two months old) - and you still in any case will have a SharePoint installation MS won't support.FAQ sites: (SP 2010) http://wssv4faq.mindsharp.com; (v3) http://wssv3faq.mindsharp.com and (WSS 2.0) http://wssv2faq.mindsharp.com Complete Book Lists (incl. foreign language) on each site.
