I am running Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials in a home/small-business environment.
Two weeks ago I was able to successfully restore workstation files from server backups. Now I am unable to do so, receiving the crash error:

This error occurs from all the workstations I tried, both Windows 7 SP1 & Windows 8.1, including machines that have received absolutely no software installs or configuration changes other than default windows updates.
The error occurs after selecting "Restore files or folders for this computer" in the Windows Server Essentials Dashboard on a workstation, then selecting a successful backup image to restore from, and then the volume to restore, when the crash report dialog immediately appears.
I've tried several things to repair the problem on a workstation, including MS tools for .NET repair. However, I am hesitant to mess with the server since I want to keep it in a supportable configuration.
Please help, we are missing work and rapidly falling behind schedule.
Thanks in advance for help anyone can provide.
