Hi All, Assuming that i have 1000's (thousand's) of site collections created and 100's (hundred's) of corresponding content db's in a very large farm server, what would be the best way to backup and restore this on another farm? The databases are clustered and my WFE servers are load balanced. I have separate search server and Index server too. Appreciate your suggestions. Regards, Kapil

Essentially, you are looking at having the same number of servers on another farm as your current farm. Then use a 3rd party solution to assist with the backup and recovery process. Just to name a few: MS Data Protection Manager EMC Legato Backup AvePoint's solution Whatever solution you choose, it needs to be leverage VSS to take backups across all servers at a given point in time so that the data is in sync.Kanwal SharePoint Buzz
