There is not away to do it through the interface. If it is possible, you would have to use the API.Shannon Bray - MCT, MCPD, MCTS, MCITP

The list ID cannot be changed. You'll need to create a new list and migrate the data to it. What's the issue you are trying to solve by changing the list ID?Gary Lapointe, Blog: http://stsadm.blogspot.com/, Twitter: http://twitter.com/glapointe

Hi,
When we add a new item in the list, ID column will automatically be created. ID is a system field, you can't change it. You can try to save the list as a template and create a new list based on the template.
Hope it helps.Xue-Mei Chang

There is no issue really. I had to reload an enitre list of records (about 16K) and was just curious if I could reset the ID. No worries.F

You have a list with 16000 records? Are you using folders in your list? Just out of curiosity, how is this list performing? I know Microsoft's recommendation is to have 2000 per folders, but I haven't dealt with that many records yet. You might want to change this thread as a discussion type.

Yes and it performs rather well. I have about 100 users on this particular site and as long as I split the list up into different views the users have no complaints. Accessing all 16K records at once takes a few minutes for all of the data to load.F

one of the problems with recreating the list with a saved template or similar properties is that workflows have to be recreated. paul truland
