Required InfoPath form fields are marked required but in practice they're not being required

I have an InfoPath form that has a combination of required and non-required fields. Yesterday everything was working fine.  As of this morning the required fields are still marked as required, but they're no longer asterisked, and both submitting and saving with these forms black is now being allowed.  I tried deleting a couple of fields from the form in Designer, then adding them back but they're still not asterisked and they're still not required.  Help!

Hi BBKC, did you check the control properties in InfoPath to make sure "cannot be blank" is checked? Did you check the SharePoint list/library field settings too?

If so, then I would close InfoPath and change the setting in the SharePoint list/library, then re-open your InfoPath form to force it to update. Then repeat the process and change it back to required again.
