Reporting Services developer date picker web
This might be a silly question, but we recently upgraded to Reporting Services 2008 and the date picker in the development environment is very user friendly. When the clients happened to stop by when I was in the middle of developing a report they liked the new date picker very much. Is there any way to get the same date picker in the reporting services 2008 web environment? The current one is very limited and requires a lot of clicking, or manual entry, especially when testing large ranges of data, over multiple years.

Hi Lady_Tevish, Your idea is very good. However, currently, we can only implement our own date picker on a customized web application, and then use the Report Viewer control to show the report. This means, in this case, we can creat our own date picker and other parameter types' user interface using standard ASP.NET controls and JavaScript, and then pass the values to Report Viewer control. For more information about Report Viewer control, please see: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms251671.aspx If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask. Absolutely! The date picker in VS 2008 is much better b/c you can quickly pick the year, too. What good is a date picker that doesn't? MS, please think about adding this into the web-based date picker. The major appeal to me of RS is that I don't have to build applications at all. Users just browse and click.
