Reporting Services 2008 report integration in a gadget
Hello everybody, I would like to distribute a small report I have made in Reporting Services which contains only one graph by using a Windows 7 Gadget. Does anybody know how to integrate a MS SQL Reporting Services 2008-report in a gadget? Your answers are greatly apreciated. Kind regards, Tim

Hi Tim, Currently, we could integrate reporting service in SharePoint or webapplication utilizing the reportviewer control, however we might not be able to integrate it into Gadget. So here I would recommend you submit a feedback to the Microsoft Connect at this link https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/Feedback This connect site is a connection point between you and Microsoft, and ultimately the larger community. Your feedback enables Microsoft to make software and services the best that they can be, and you can learn about and contribute to exciting projects. Regards, Challen Fu

Hi Tim, You can show your SSRS 2008 reports (small graph) on Windows 7 Gadget, I have done that, please see the bellow steps. 1. Configure your SSRS 2008 reporting service in native mode and create your required reports & publish reports and DataSource to ReportServer. 2. Open the folder C:\Users\[Login User]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets\ OR C:\[Login Users]\Administrator\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets\ 3. Create a Folder into Gadget folder like "HelloWorld.gadget". 4. Create a gadget.xml file into HelloWorld.gadget folder. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <gadget> <name>OCL Sales Graph</name> <namespace>microsoft.windows</namespace> <version>1.0.0.0</version> <author name="Manas Mondal"> <info url="http://www.ontrackindia.com" text="www.ontrackindia.com"/> <logo src="osllogo.jpg"/> </author> <copyright>Ontrack System Ltd 2011</copyright> <description>This is OCL SSRS 2008 Dash board on gadget</description> <icons> <icon height="28" width="28" src="osllogo.png"/> </icons> <hosts> <host name="sidebar"> <autoscaleDPI>true</autoscaleDPI> <base type="HTML" apiVersion="1.0.0" src="HelloGadget.html"/> <permissions>Full</permissions> <platform minPlatformVersion="1.0"/> <defaultImage src="osllogo.png"/> </host> </hosts> </gadget> 5.
