Report takes 7 mins to run on server
I've parameterized SSRS 2005 report which is using Store proc. At run time we need to pass 11 paramters to run the report. When i run this report on my local machine it runs very fast within 5 seconds but when i run the same report on the server it takes 6-7 mins. 1st it take 2 mins to pop up then when i pass the parameters it takes almost 7 mins. to run. Any suggestions ?? Thanks, PratulSSRSRpt

Hi Pratul, In the first instance create a trace on your server using SQL Server Profiler; - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms187929(v=SQL.90).aspx The following is also an excellent link for SSRS Performance Monitoring queries which look at the database 'ReportServer'; - http://www.purplefrogsystems.com/blog/2008/05/ssrs-report-performance-monitoring/ Is your server physical or virtual? If your server is a virtual one you may want to find out how many other virtual servers are using the same physical server box. It may still be worth looking again at your indexing strategy since potientially your local machine could be very forgiving in this area; - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa964133(SQL.90).aspx http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc966540.aspx Please tell me how you get on.
