Report manager multiselect check boxes reset when report is run
I have a report with a multi-select checkbox list in report manager. When I choose 4-5 items and click the 'View Report' button (this is MSRS 2005) the page flashes and all the checkboxes are blanked out and no report loads. If I just do this over an over it sometimes works. On a bad day I try this 9 unsuccessful times for every one successful time. The choices selected are always the same. This is annoying and frustrating. Thanks. --[_]-[_]--

Are the parameters cascaded? In other words, the list if values for one parameter depend on the other? If yes, then you'll need to select the values in the first parameter and wait until values in the second parameter are populated(as these values depend on what yo select in the first parameter). I guess this is what you are referring to as "reset"?

There is just one list of check boxes. No cascading. 'Reset' means: 1) I check 4 or 5 boxes. 2) I hit 'View Report' 3) The page just reloads, and all the check boxes are cleared out and there is no report 4) I start all over again 5) On about the 9th try it actually works Thanks. --[_]-[_]--

Hi agent_smith, Thanks for you question, Actually, if the multiple parameter has no selected value, it will pop out an error "Please select a value for the parameter ParaName" I am not sure why you could click the view button without any error. Does the behavior is same when preview the report in BIDS? Do all the report with multiple parameter have the same behavior? If you open the same report in another computer, will it also have this behavior? If not, I suspect it is not the issue of reporting services itself, so here I would recommend you update your IE to the latest version to see whether the issue still exist and give a feedback. If possible, you could update SSRS to the latest Service Pack, which is available at this link http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=b953e84f-9307-405e-bceb-47bd345baece Hope this helps. Hi agent_smith, Could you please post your XML file with some sample data? With the XML file we could do a in-deep troubleshooting, then give a feedback. Thanks, Challen FuPlease remember to mark the replies as answers if they help and unmark them if they provide no help.
