Report Server has encountered a SharePoint error when Managing Integration Settings in WSS3.0 and SQL Server 2008
since a couple of days, i cannot deploy reports anymore. i get the following error (and as it worked before URLs are correct etc) ================================== Could not connect to the report server "server". Verify that the TargetServerURL is valid and that you have the correct permissions to connect to the report server. (Microsoft Report Designer) =================================== Report Server has encountered a SharePoint error. (System.Web.Services) ------------------------------ Program Location: at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.ReadResponse(SoapClientMessage message, WebResponse response, Stream responseStream, Boolean asyncCall) at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.Invoke(String methodName, Object[] parameters) at Microsoft.SqlServer.ReportingServices2006.ReportingService2006.ListSecureMethods() at Microsoft.ReportDesigner.Project.ReportServiceClient2006.CheckAuthenticated() at Microsoft.ReportDesigner.Project.ReportClientManager.DetectEndpointAndAuthenticate(String url, ICredentials credentials, String& authCookieName, Cookie& authCookie, EndpointType& endpointType) at Microsoft.ReportDesigner.Project.ReportClientManager.GetCredentials(String url) at Microsoft.ReportDesigner.Project.ReportProjectDeployer.PrepareDeploy() I have gone back to central administration to re-do the reporting services settings, but i get the same error ("Report Server has encountered a SharePoint error")there when doing "manage integration settings" and "Set server defaults". I have seen this http://larslynch.blogspot.com/2009/11/sharepoint-and-reporting-services-user.html and I have checked all authors with PowerShell, is sharepoint\system for all of the webs. We have been changing things in "Alternate Access mappings" in the period just before (but reset everything to what it was before) We use WSS3.0, SQL Server 2008, both on same server, SP farm is handled by the SQL server. I am using a domain account (and not Network Services) as Service account. Only Windows authentication is enabled on virtual directory ReportServer in IIS. I tried Trusted Account and Windows Authentication, makes no difference. the log file entries around the time of my action in central administration are: ...tton.OnClick(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.WebControls.Button.RaisePostBackEvent(String eventArgument) at System.Web.UI.Page.RaisePostBackEvent(IPostBackEventHandler sourceControl, String eventArgument) at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequest(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequest() at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequest(HttpContext context) at ASP._layouts_reportserver_reportserversitesettings_aspx.ProcessRequest(HttpContext context) at System.Web.HttpApplication.CallHandlerExecutionStep.System.Web.HttpApplication.IExecutionStep.Execute() at System.Web.HttpApplication.... ...ExecuteStep(IExecutionStep step, Boolean& completedSynchronously) at System.Web.HttpApplication.ApplicationStepManager.ResumeSteps(Exception error) at System.Web.HttpApplication.System.Web.IHttpAsyncHandler.BeginProcessRequest(HttpContext context, AsyncCallback cb, Object extraData) at System.Web.HttpRuntime.ProcessRequestInternal(HttpWorkerRequest wr) at System.Web.HttpRuntime.ProcessRequestNoDemand(HttpWorkerRequest wr) at System.Web.Hosting.ISAPIRuntime.ProcessRequest(IntPtr ecb, Int32 iWRType) Updating SPPersistedObject SPRSServiceConfiguration Name=ReportingService Parent=SPFarm Name=SharePoint_Config.
