Report Server SharePoint Integrated Placement?
Hello, My actual Configuration is: SharePoint 2007 in a Farm and SQL Server 2008 on SQLA, SQLB & AP1. - SQL Server A & B Clustered hosting the Databases - 2 Applications Servers for SharePoint Ap1 & AP2 - 2 Front End Servers FE1 & FE2 Following the article http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb326356.aspx#rsconfigurationsteps "For deployments that include a SharePoint server farm, install a SharePoint Web front-end on the report server computer. The Web front-end joins the report server computer to a SharePoint farm. Installing the Web front-end on the report server computer is only necessary if you deploy the report server and the SharePoint technology instance on separate computers." The Report Server for the first instance was not SharePoint integrated and it runs on SQL1. For the new instance I installed (Databases on SQL 1 and Reporting Services on SQL 1) it seems I need to install the Report Server on FE1 or FE2 as well? I don't have a SQL Application on the Front-End Server which makes this article really confusing... http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqlreportingservices/thread/0490630d-eb5a-47d4-b6be-ed6942d99a41 this thread said the database should be on local drive so how do you do http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb677365.aspx this sample Two server deployment, example 1 with Reporting Server on Computer1 and Report Server Databases on Computer 2??? Any idea?
