I have 2 folders of Report that reports are working well and we are accessing the reports by URL through Report manager from the past 6 months Yesterday we have a problem found that the reports are not displaying in the Report manager and it says a error :"The report server is not responding. Verify that the report server is running and can be accessed from this computer ." * I verified the Report manager * I Checked the Services are running Properly. * The reports can be able to run in the back end (Visual studio) * I did not set any security credential to access the Reports. But i could not able to connect the Report server. when i connect to report server by widows authentication mode the follwoing error message are displaying. =================================== Cannot connect to sapserver. =================================== Client found response content type of 'text/html; charset=utf-8', but expected 'text/xml'. One of the Error states SSRS is not able to access the Report Server DB. Can you check wehther you are able to access the Report Server DB thru SSMS with the SSRS service account?

I understand that you are able to access the REport Server Db (Query some tables). If so try this if you have not done already. (1) Restart the Reporting Services. (2) Using Report Configuration tool & remap the Report server dbs to the Report Servcies

I tried the these above two points but i could not get the solution yet. I could not understand that Report server DB is there but why i could not able to log in. And i did not set any security credential then why i could not log in. i can able to configure the Report server but i can't access it When i try to access it by the URL Http://localhost/Reportserver Error: The report server cannot open a connection to the report server database. A connection to the database is required for all requests and processing. (rsReportServerDatabaseUnavailable) Get Online Help Login failed for user 'USHAFIRE/Administrator'. Http://localhost/Reports Error: The report server is not responding. Verify that the report server is running and can be accessed from this computer. And all other services of SSMS like Analysis Services,Integration Services can be able to log in.

I am bit confused. The error message clearly says that the account dont have access to the ReportServer dbs. Can you pls confirm whether you are able to access the report server dbs with this account( pls query some table in this DBs). Also pls ensure that the account has both "Public & RSExecRole" for these databases. You can check this in the server --> security--> Logins --> <LoginId>-->User mapping.

I have just experienced this problem on our production server that turned out to be some kind of disk corruption. We had a dead disk in a RAID 5 array. When it was replaced and rebuilt SSRS still didn't work, even after a restart of SQL Server, but did work when the server was rebooted.DBA
