Report Server Configuration
Our Report Server was working fine and it suddenly stopped. The error message received in the browser is, "The Report Server Web Service is unable to access secure information in the report server. Please verify that the WebServiceAccount is specified correctly in the report server config file. (rsAccessDeniedToSecureData)". SQL Server 2005 (9.0.4053) 64-bit. I have tried reconfiguring with the Report Services Configuration Manager but nothing seems to help. I have made sure that all Windows and SQL accounts have rights. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi ShaunColeman, Generally, This error typically means that the service account in %WINDOWS%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\CONFIG\machine.config does not match the account you specified in the element found in your rsreportserver.config file found in %Program Files%\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.X\Reporting Services\ReportServer. In order to solve this issue, could you please post me the log files on Report Server machine? By default, they are located at<drive:> \Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.X\Reporting Services\LogFiles. By the way, there is a similar thread about this issue. Please refer to Garsy’s suggestion in the following thread: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/sqlreportingservices/thread/098078da-83ed-49c3-94d4-4d4985cfcf95 Hope this helps. Regards, Bin LongPlease remember to mark the replies as answers if they help and unmark them if they provide no help.
