Report Builder 2.0 Unhandled Exception
Hello,I ran into an error in report builder 2.0 (10.0.2531.0). First off, this came from a user and I was able to reproduce it. I am doing a semantic query against our report model, and I do the following:1) Go to our prod reporting site and click on the report builder button.2) In the report builder app, create a new Table/Matrix via wizard.3) Choose our report model data source4) Click the filter button in the "Design a query" section.5) On one entity, I filter on a non-key column (Column1 = "Value")6) On another related entity, I filter on a non-key column (Column2 = "Value"7) I hit "OK" to get back to the "Design" screen and get an unhandled exception. Here is the top of the exception detail text: System.ArgumentException: The target entity 'Task' is not related to the current entity 'Order'. at Microsoft.ReportingServices.SemanticQueryDesign.ModelNavigator.AsEntityNodeRequired(ModelEntity currentEntity, ModelEntity targetEntity) As the error eludes to, we have 2 report model entities that relate to each other. They have the proper 2 way relationships set up in the model.Things I've done to troubleshoot:1) Tried adding the columns in the "Design a query" screen and then filter on the columns. a) Results: No error.2) Looked at the SSRS logs on both servers (in a 2 server web farm). a) Results: No errors in log.3) Looked for ways to run a semantic query outside of RB 2.0. a) Results: Cannot find another tool.4) Googled exception. a) Results: 4 hits on forum post with no answers to it.5) Looked at the model project for errors in relationship definition, etc. a) Results: No problems.6) Looked at the KB and service packs to see if there are any bugs/fixes a) Results: None pertaining to the RB 2.0 exception text.Anyone have any ideas on how to further troubleshoot this? Is the fact that it's an unhandled exception make it out of my hands from a support perspective? That is, is this an MS support problem, or are there other things that can be done at the DBA level? Let me know if you guys have any ideas. Thanks,Eric
