Report Builder 1.0 Freezing and Grouping ( SSRS 2008 )
Hi All, Report Builder 1.0 by default provides grouping property while drawing columns into report area. Here i want to remove the unnecessary grouping for context. Next thing is I know how to apply column freezing in report builder 1.0 report, but here problem is while scrolling from left to right, columns are freezing but header gets disappear for freezing columns. Is there any way to display freeze columns header while scrolling Horizontally ? Last thing is in MSBI report, we can select add group header property while grouping. Here in report builder 1.0 we have any such kind of feature to apply add group header property? Thanks & Regards, Prawin

Hi Prawin, Since you are using SSRS 2008, I would recommend you update your Report Builder to RB 2.0, then you could achieve both requirement as you mentioned in your post, which provides an intuitive report authoring environment for business and power users. It supports the full capabilities of SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services. It is availabe at this link http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=9f783224-9871-4eea-b1d5-f3140a253db6&displaylang=en Thanks, Challen FuChallen Fu [MSFT] MSDN Community Support | Feedback to us Get or Request Code Sample from Microsoft Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help and unmark them if they provide no help.

hi Challe Fu, In REPORT BUILDER 2.0, I can get the all features like row grouping, column grouping, Columns freezing. But when I applied freezing to first 2 columns for quick reference as my report contains more than 10 columns, the header for the freezing columns get disappear while scrolling Horizontally to end of the report . I have set property Row Groups--> Static--> Fixed data to true , Keep with Group to After and Repeat on New Page to True and Column Groups --> Static (First Two) Fixed data to true . Is there any way to keep header visible for Freeze Columns while scrolling Horizontally? Thanks, Prawin

Hi Prawin, I could also reproduce your issue in my local environment currently, this might be a conflict when you set the both row and column fixdata property to true. So here I would recommend you submit a feedback to the Microsoft Connect at this link https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/Feedback This connect site is a connection point between you and Microsoft, and ultimately the larger community. Your feedback enables Microsoft to make software and services the best that they can be, and you can learn about and contribute to exciting projects. Now I want to freeze the grouped Column Department whose static property is not under ColumnGroups. I have tried but failed to freeze Goroup by column Department. I find the second and third replies of yours is the same question, please refe to my second reply. As the top-left textbox blong to both static row and static column, it might be exist a conflict.Challen Fu [MSFT] MSDN Community Support | Feedback to us Get or Request Code Sample from Microsoft Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help and unmark them if they provide no help.

I have run into the same problem. When grouping is applied to a report the headers disappear on subsequent pages of the report.
