ReportServicesConfigUI.WMIProvider .WMIProviderException: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COM Exception (0x8000000A)
Hi there!
I installed the Sql Reporting Services under Vista Business.
When i run de configuration tool, i have to select yhe machine name and instance name... then when i press connect this exception is thrown

Actually I just figured it out. I'm running on Windows Vista Business edition. For Vista you have to install Sql Server 2005 SP2.I installed SP2 and I don't get the error anymore.

I did install the Sp2 to, but that didn't quite resolve everything.

I found another solution for this. If the problem occurs after a reinstallation, try to change the security rights of this file, in order to replace current rights for its primary object:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.[X]\Reporting Services\ReportServer\rsreportserver.config

The workaround suggested by Ariel worked for me as well ! I gave all permissions to all users (DEV system) for the file rsreportserver.config and then the Reporting Services config tool started properly.
