ReportServer site is not opening
Hi guys, I installed SQL 2008 R2 and Reporting Services on a Windows 2008 R2 server and everything was okay. But then I had some issues with SCOM 2007 R2 and its discovery wizard so had to uninstall SCOM Reporting Services from the SQL server. Since I found that the SCOM reporting cannot be reinstalled without reinstalling SQL RS, I reinstalled SQL RS (the same SQL server instance), manually deleted its databases and recreated new ones, and configured it through RS Config Manager. Now everything looks okay, but I cannot open http://server/reportserver. It spins for a while and ends up with a blank page, having this in the right upper corner: server/ReportServer - / ___________________________________ ___________________________________ Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services Version 10.50.1600.1 The report manager at http://server/reports opens successfully. There is nothing helpful in the Windows event logs. Any suggestions? Thanks Zoran

This usually happens when there's a problem with the Report Manager Virtual Directory. You can view virtual directory details by launching Reporting Services Configuration Manager and then selecting the Remport Manager URL tab. Click on the provided URL to see if you can access Report Manager. If you still get them same problem, have a read of the following: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms159261(v=SQL.105).aspx http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms188133(SQL.90).aspx http://www.mssqltips.com/tip.asp?tip=1453Jeff Wharton MSysDev (C.Sturt), MDbDsgnMgt (C.Sturt) MCT, MCPD, MCITP, MCDBA Blog: Mr. Wharty's Ramblings Please mark solved if I've answered your question, vote for it as helpful to help other user's find a solution quicker

Hi Jeff, The Report Manager is okay and it opens normally (SQL Server Reporting Services Home). It's the Report Server site that won't open. Thanks Zoran

That's okay. :) I think I'll just rebuild the whole server and then rebuild SCOM. That should fix it. Thanks for your your help. Zoran

I apologise for my quick fingers. The page I described above is okay and I managed to fix SCOM reporting. I built new pair of SQL and SCOM servers and got the same page for http://server/reportserver, but everything worked well. Then I removed scom and RS from SQL and reinstalled it all and it worked again. Then I reinstalled it all on my original servers and it worked. phew
