Rendering valid set/group xpath in the visualizer
Is the intention of the FIM Product Group to ensure that any xpath that is considered 'valid' should ultimately be able to be visualized in either a set or group definition? There are many scenarios where I have had to edit a filter directly, and usually after trial-and-error arrive at something that works - but the way this continues to render (with the red warning text) leaves a little to be desired. What is the planned direction with the way the query dialect is visualized in the future? ThanksBob Bradley, www.unifysolutions.net (FIMBob?)

Hi Bob! I'm not part of the PG team but MVP and my guess is the priority for your wish is very low and the reason for that is that the functionality for creating more advanced Sets and Groups is available as you said except there's no GUI for it. I know the team has a lot of things cooking and their priority is what they get requests for and to be honest this is the first time I've seen this wish and for me a better filter GUI is not at all as important as for example custom sync rule functions, extranet password reset, supported WS client, event and codebehind support in RCDC's, etc and we'll see what the future will bring... //HenrikHenrik Nilsson, ILM/FIM MVP Blog: http://www.idmcrisis.com Company: Cortego (http://www.cortego.se)

Improving the filter builder seems to be low on the list as Henrik says. I filed a feature request/DCR on R2 to allow the filter builder to allow you to use IN for multivalue reference attributes and it was rejected. :P

Paul - that specific example is the killer for most of my custom xpath statements ... I think if we had that one then most of my query definitions would miraculously render! Do you have a link to the Connect request so I could re-activate and vote it up?Bob Bradley, www.unifysolutions.net (FIMBob?)
